In the years 2016 - 2021, he studied painting at the Open Studio of Rastislav Podoba at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. He won the rector's prize for his diploma thesis. He is a multiple finalist of the Painting competition (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), while he already took third place at his debut in 2020. In 2022, he won the Martin Benka Award. In recent years, he has presented himself at numerous individual and group exhibitions at home and abroad. He lives and works in Žilina. The author introduced himself on the domestic scene with a set of works with an environmental theme - he was fascinated by landfills, waste, climate change, the destruction of the planet - an urgent issue that is perceived very sensitively by the young generation in particular. In the rest of the period, his interest turns more to man and his current problems, but his connection with nature is still present. Sandanus's approach to painting is, so to speak, "classical", he usually works with a monochromatic color spectrum - mainly to draw the viewer who looks at his work even more into the atmosphere of the picture. He wants him to intensely feel the moment he captured in a painting. It forces him to think, to stop - to feel and at the same time reevaluate his perception of the surrounding world. The final painting Illusion (2023) is also the result of concentrated observation. Sandanus admits that he is fascinated by watching the detailed features of the selected characters and their current behavior. However, he is also interested in how they were influenced by previous personal and societal events. He realizes that today, by watching too much social media, a person loses his own life and can have a real problem to socialize. In a similar way, this finding is depicted in the present painting. Individual characters outwardly appear to be close to each other - in a seemingly shared, literally even ecstatic experience of some kind of action. In reality, they do not communicate with each other, each of them experiences reality anonymously, for herself - in her individual world. They are closed in their own raincoat, in a kind of "bubble" in which they create ideas and illusions about their outlook on life. They are so close, yet they lose the possibility of any mutual communication.
