2011, she began studying at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica in the open studio of painting of Professors Jan Kudlička and Rastislav Podoba. In 2013 she completed a study internship in the studio of Professor Andrzej Bednarczyk at the Academy of Arts in Krakow. She continues her studies in the studio of Intermedia Confrontation at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague under the guidance of Associate Professor Jiři David and Milan Salak. She lives and works in Prague and Prievidza.

Bukovčáková placed in the final three in her debut last year and this year's entry once again confirms the qualities of the young painter. She proves that the choice of the jury was not random, and confirms the irreversible generational shift that the Painting Competition has experienced in recent years. Young painters are simply growing up outside the "centre", which is undoubtedly an important moment for the revival of the local scene and the competition itself.

Bukovčáková's work is based on her own memories and photographs, which she further transforms into paintings. Her handwriting is light, sketchy and fluid, often using a strong, vigorous gesture, which, combined with her interest in landscape, creates a remarkable harmony of shapes and colours. She is interested in man's relationship to nature, exploring its original form, trying to suggest their interconnectedness and linking them into a whole. Her paintings show a sense of humility before wild nature, the organic shapes are a reminder of processes that do not succumb to the need to geometrize and organize everything, and of a landscape that arises spontaneously and uncontrollably.
